Elizabeth Taylor (February 27, 1932 - March 23, 2011) was born to American parents living in Hampstead Garden Suburb, London, England. She held dual citizenship as she was an American citizen through her American parents and was born on British soil until 1965 when she signed an oath of renunciation of the United States. Her first movie was "There's One Born Every Minute" in 1942. As a teenager, she was in "Lassie Come Home," and "National Velvet." She was married eight times to seven different men, having married Richard Burton twice. They were: Hotel heir Conrad "Nicky" Hilton from May 1950 through January 1952; actor Michael Wilding, with whom she had two sons, from February 1952 through January 1957; film producer Mike Todd, with whom she had a daughter named Elizabeth, from July 5, 1947 until his death in a plane crash in March 1958; American singer Eddie Fisher -- after he left his first wife and Liz's best friend Debbie Reynolds -- from March 1959 until March 1964; Welsh actor Richard Burton, with whom she adopted a daughter Maria, and to whom she was married the first time from March 1964 until June 1974 and again from October 1975 until July 1976; Senator John Warner from December 1976 until November 1982; and Larry Fortensky, whom she met while they were both in rehab, from October 1991 until October 1996.
