Born in New York City on July 6, 1946, Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone was born the son of a father who was a hairdresser and an immigrant from Italy and a mother who was an astrologer who was a Ukranian Jew. He is also the brother of actor Frank Stallone. Although he had been in show business for a few years, he was not known by the world until 1976 when his box office smash "Rocky" hit the theaters. He says he wrote in three days after watching Muhammad Ali fighting Chuck Wepner. It spawned 5 sequels. He also did the "Rambo" series and the "Expendables." Sly has been married four times and has five children, including the late actor and movie producer Sage Stallone, who died in 2012 of a heart condition.
