Actress and diva Judy Garland gave birth to Liza Minnelli on March 12, 1946 in Hollywood, California. Her father, Vincente Minnelli, was a film and stage director. She made her screen debut when she was 3 years old in the final scene of "In the Good Old Summertime," which starred her mother. Her best known role was in "Cabaret," where she starred as Sally Bowles. Like her mother, Liza has battled alcoholism and addiction most of her life. She has been in the famous Betty Ford Clinic. She has been married and divorced four times. Her first marriage was to Peter Allen. That marriage lasted from 1967 until 1974, as Peter was getting ready to come out of the closet. Her second marriage was to Jack Haley, Jr., whose father, Jack Sr., played the Tin Man in "The Wizard of Oz." Their marriage lasted from 1974 to 1979. From 1979 to 1992, she was married to sculptor Mark Gero. She married concert promotor David Gest in 2002, and they separated in 2003, finally divorcing in 2007.
