Scottish singer and songwriter Annie Lennox was born on Christmas Day 1954 in Aberdeen, Scotland. She studied flute, harpsichord, and piano at the Royal Academy of Music. She first got nation-wide attention as half of the synth-pop duo called Eurythmics in which she sang alto while David Stewart played keyboard. Her original draw included her androgynous appearance. She has been married three times and is currently married to South African gynecologist Mitch Besser.
