Grace Kelly (November 12, 1929 - September 14, 1982), better known as Princess Grace of Monaco after her marriage to Prince Rainier III, was an actress in America from the age of 20. She left the stage and film industry when she was 26 in order to marry the prince. They had three children: Caroline, Albert, and Stephanie. On September 13, 1982, Princess Grace was in a car with her daughter Stephanie on their way home from their country home in France. She suffered a stroke which caused her to careen down the side of a mountain. She was alive but unconscious when she was pulled from the wreckage, but her injuries were so severe that she died the next day without regaining consciousness. Stephanie suffered a cervical fracture in the accident. Prince Rainier never remarried and was buried next to her after his 2005 death.
