Ronaldo Padavona is the birth name of Ronnie James Dio (July 10, 1942 - May 16, 2010), heavy metal musician who was the front man for numerous bands, including Black Sabbath, and Dio. He was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He took trumpet lessons at the age of five and started his first band in high school, and was, he said, offered a scholarship to Julliard School of Music, but that he declined because of his love of rock and roll. He elected instead to enroll at the University at Buffalo to study pharmacology, however, he played trumpet in the university's band and never did graduate. He was married twice, with his first marriage yielding an adopted sone and ending in divorce. His second marriage was to his manager, Wendy Gaxiola, to whom he remained married until his death of stomach cancer.
