The city of Renton is situated in King County, Washington just southeast of Seattle. It was settled by Europeans just after the Civil War and found an economy based on coal mining, timber export, and clay production. More recently, it has become known as the assembly of the Boeing planes. Founded as the Renton Cooperative Coal Organization in 1895, it was incorporated six years later.
