The Washington city of Bothell is co-located in King and Snohomish Counties. It was settled by Columbus Greenleaf and George Wilson in 1870. In the next six years, eight families joined them. In 1885, David Bothell, from Pennsylvania, bought 80 acres a portion of which he later sold to the town’s first postmaster in 1888. In 1962, the logging community was recognized by LIFE Magazine as displaying the largest living Christmas tree in the world, a 112-foot evergreen.
