The city of Bellevue, Washington is situated across Lake Washington from Seattle in King County. Founded in 1869, it was not officially incorporated until 1953. It was a small rural development until 1940, when the Lacey V. Murrow Memorial Bridge, allowing easy access to Seattle and making Bellevue a bedroom community.
