Settled when Preston Witt built his house near White Rock Creek in 1846, the Town of Addison is found in Dallas County, Texas. It was originally known as Noell Junction, in honor of Sidney Smith Noell, an early settler. It was renamed in honor of the town’s second postmaster Addison Robertson, who served from 1908 to 1908.The first industry in town was a cotton gin on Addison Road, which was established by the Pistole brothers in 1902. The climate in this part of Texas is subtropical.
