Although the official name of the city is Mount Juliet, it is more commonly known as Mt. Juliet. It is situated in Wilson County and is less than 20 miles from Nashville. It was settled in 1835, and there are only legends about how it was its name, which is, by the way, unique in the United States. It was finally incorporated as a city in 1972.
