Camden The county seat of Kershaw County, South Carolina is Camden, which was part of Fredericksburg The township which was laid out in 1732 when it was called Fredericksburg by order of King George II. On August 16, 1780, during the American Revolution Lord Charles Cornwallis was the victor of the Battle of Camden, which was the largest defeat Americans suffered during the war.
