The township of Randolph, New Jersey is situated in Morris County. It was settled by Quakers after Hartshome Fitz-Randolph bought 1,000 acres which would one day become part of the township. In 1713, New Jersey got its first iron mine when one was established in Randolph. This mine provided the Continental Army with guns and other weapons during the American Revolution.It was also a supply point for General George Washington and is army while they encamped for the winter in Jockey Hollow, which was nearby.
