Warren, New Hampshire is situated within Grafton County. It is named in honor of Admiral Sir Peter Warren, a naval officer from Ireland who was commanded a squadron of 16 British ships  in the attack of Louisburg, Nova Scotia in 1745. It was granted to John Page and a large group of men by Colonial Governor Benning Wentworth in 1763 and incorporated by Colonial Governor John Wentworth in 1770. It was first settled by Joseph Patch, successful hunter and trapper, in 1767. At the annual town meeting, the attendees voted to give each person who settled in town before October 1, 1768, fifty acres of land and six pounds in money.
