Seabrook, New Hampshire is located in Rockingham County. It was settled in 1638 and named for the numerous brooks which extravagate to the Atlantic Ocean via the extensive salt marshes along the way. Prior to being named Seabrook, and while it was still within the disputed area of Massachusetts, it was named Hampton Falls, and then South Hampton. Quakers were among the first settlers. The original center of the town, known as Seabrook Village, was crowded with churches, residences, a cemetery, and later, many businesses, including two major shoe factories,  and a train depot.
