Kingston, New Hampshire is located in Rockingham County. The town was established in 1694, the fifth town inn New Hampshire, as the result of a royal charter granted by King William. Dr. Josiah Bartlett, delegate to the Continental Congress and who the man likely the second person to sign the Declaration of Independence, "President" of the state of New Hampshire from 1790 to 1794, lived in Kingston, along with his wife, Mary, their three sons and seven daughters. And it was his cape house in Kingston which was burned to the ground by loyalists who disapproved of his patriotic doings.
