The town of Hooksett, New Hampshire is situated in Merrimack County. It was incorporated in 1822. Though originally called Chester Woods and Rowe's Corner, it was called Hooksett for at least 50 years before the incorporation. In 1794, the Hooksett Canal was a crucial part of the transportation facilities of the Amoskeag cotton mills in nearby Manchester.
