The city of Anaheim, in Orange County, California, is home to the Disneyland Resort, which contains the oldest theme park, among other parks. Founded as the second city in Los Angeles County in 1870, Anaheim was first settled by fifty German families in 1857. Its name is derived from “Ana” in honor of the nearby Santa Ana River, and “heim,” which is a German suffix meaning “home.”
