The unincorporated town of Sun City, Arizona is in Maricopa County. Sun City was established in 1960 as a retirement community, built on the site of the former town of Marinette. Its adjoining community, Sun City West, was established by the same developer, Del E. Webb, who also built Sun City Grand, Sun City Anthem, and Sun City Festival. The town's streets are arranged largely in circles. Sun City continues to serve as a retirement community, with a population in excess of 30,000.
