Newfoundland and Labrador is the easternmost province in Canada. It includes Labrador, which is on the coastal mainland, and the island of Newfoundland and surrounding smaller islands, where the vast majority of the population lives. Although English is the de facto provincial language, Newfoundland has its own dialects of English, French, and Irish, and Labrador has its own dialects of Inukitut and Innu-aimun. The capital city is St. Johns, which is its largest city.
