Marlon Brando (April 3, 1924 - July 1, 2004) was an American actor. Famous for "On the Waterfront," "A Streetcar Named Desire," and "The Godfather," among other movies, Marlon was a practitioner of the Stanislavski acting system, which has the actor explore his or her feelings from the past in order to fully understand the characters he or she is playing. He married Anna Kashfi in 1957, and they had a son, Christian in 1958, and they divorced in 1959. Within months, he married Movita Castaneda in 1960. Movita was older than Brando, and had played in the original "Mutiny on the Bounty," 27 years before Brando starred in the 1962 remake. They had two children, Miko and Rebecca and divorced in 1962. In 1962, he married Tarita Teriipaia, with whom he had a daughter, Tarita Cheyenne. He also adopted Tarita's daughter and niece. They divorced in 1972. He also had three children from a long term affair he had with his housekeeper, Maria Ruiz and five more. He died of respiratory failure when he was 80. He was worth more than $21 million at the time he died.
