The Somali Republic, often known as Somalia, has been involved in a civil war since 1991 and is in the eastern part of the continent, surrounded by Yemen, Ethiopia, and the Gulf of Aden as well as the Indian Ocean. It is recognized as one of the most violent nations in the world. The capital city is Mogadishu, and it ha two official languages: Somali and Arabic.
