Postpartum depression is a severe and long-lasting form of clinical depression which is triggered by the birth of a baby. Rarely, postpartum psychosis, an extreme form of postpartum depression, develops. Symptoms of postpartum depression can include anxiety, fatigue, sadness, changes in eating and in sleeping habits, reduced libido, and mood swings.
