The Rastafari movement is a Jamaican Christian movement which began in the 1930s. A large number of adherents worship the late Haile Selassie, who was the emperor of Ethiopia, believing him to have been the reincarnation of Jesus, while others believe that he was a king here on earth, chosen by God. They reject the western culture, which they call Babylon, and embrace the use of marijuana for spiritual purposes.
