The Pentecostal movement stresses a direct personal experience of God via the baptism of the Holy Spirit, spiritual gifts. They believe that Christians can attain the same spiritual powers as the Apostles had beginning on Pentecost. Adherents to the movement are a diverse bunch and contains more than 11,000 denominations, which include but are most certainly not limited to Assemblies of God, Church of God, Church of God in Christ, and the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel.
