Mary Baker Eddy founded Christian Science after writing a textbook which, along with the Bible, is central to the belief system. Mrs. Eddy wrote that the teachings and the healings of Jesus Christ were compatible and provable as science. They believe that the healing power of Jesus is available to all people who have the "correct knowledge" of healing. They believe that evil is a nonexistent illusion, God is referred to as both mother and father, and there is no eternal punishment.
