Horror is intense fear or a feeling of distress or fear. Gothic horror, frequently called "Gothic fiction," is a genre that mixes both romance and horror. The characters of Gothic horror include vampires, werewolves, ghosts, dragons, angels and fallen angels, and Satan himself. Recurring themes include psychological terror, mystery, Gothic archtecture such as castles, secrets, haunted houses, and hereditary curses.
