The Napoleonic Wars were a series of wars which were fought from 1803 to 1815. The conflicts were between Napoleon Bonaparte's French military and Great Britain originally, and then moved on to numerous nations in Europe. Napoleon's wars began so close on the heels of the French Revolution that historians disagree on the date. It began some time between 1799 when he sieved power in France, or the commonly accepted date of May 18, 1803 when the war between France and Britain began.
