Leonardo da Vinci (April 15, 1452 - May 2, 1519) was born Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci. He was a polymath, which is known today as a Renaissance man, with expertise in mathematics, music, botany, and cartography. He was a sculptor, painter, and inventor as well. There are few people alive today who are unfamiliar with his paintings, The Last Supper and the Mona Lisa. The Christian Humanist requested that sixty beggars follow his casket when he died.
